• A few highlights concerning potential places of missional engagement within the UIC Area: Barbara’s Bookstore is a great place to hang out and get to know UIC students. As well, they often have author appearances, other literary events, and a Children’s Reading Hour each Saturday at 11:00 AM. Consider joining Dan Oakes with the Good News Jail Ministry at the CookCountyJuvenileDetentionCenter. The approval process is a bit lengthy (application, background check, pastor reference, getting an ID made), but if you are interested you should call Dan at 773-425-5918.
  • A brief calendar of important/interesting upcoming events: Thanksgiving is coming up! All kinds of events are taking place with that. For example, the HolyTrinityCroatianChurch on 18th Street is having a Thanksgiving Dinner for the public. A couple of parades are coming up as well: Magnificent Mile Lights Festival and the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
