Hey friends,
Our annual church retreat is coming up on July 15-17th at Streator Baptist Camp. Our time together each year at retreat is vital to the life of our church – we join as a family, reconnect, have fun together, and re-engage in the mission of our church. This year will be a meaningful time for us as we face many transitions, and we want to see you there!
In order to make arrangements, I need an estimate of how many people will be there. Please RSVP by email to ellan.shelton by this Sunday 5/31 with a yes, no, or maybe. Just need to get a rough estimate in order to make plans. Hope you all can make it!
Thanks!
Dear Immanuel Ladies,
We regret to sadly inform you that because of Sara’s (hopefully short) stay in the hospital over this past week we will have to CANCEL her shower planned for this Saturday. We are very happy though, to let you know that Rachel M. will be collecting any gifts that you had planned to give the Smiths on Sunday morning before/after church. They will be delivered at the Smith’s earliest convenience.
Also, keep your eyes peeled for Care Calendar opportunities in the near future!
Thanks! Enjoy your weekend!
Adam & Sara purchased a Groupon for Spanish lessons, but won’t be able to use it before it expires. If you’d like to buy it from them, contact Sara at saradamsmith. Here’s a link to the organization – http://www.spanishlc.com
Rachel is making the summer schedules now. We could really use more people in the Kids’ Corner and on the Set-Up and Tear-Down crews.
If you’re interested in serving in the Kids’ Corner, email kids@immanuel-baptist.net and cc rachel.matlack.
If you could serve on the Set-Up and/or Tear-Down Crew, email facilities@immanuel-baptist.net and cc rachel.matlack.
Thanks!
Anyone who knows Ryan and/or Amy and wants to celebrate their engagement and say goodbye as they begin a youth pastor role at another church, come on over to Nathandrea’s at 6:30 PM tomorrow (5/15) night for light refreshments and fun!
Calvin’s last Sunday with us will be this coming Sunday (send-off and snacks after service). He will be moving on Saturday, May 21st, to Naperville and could use a little help loading and hauling some boxes. The good news is that he doesn’t yet own any furniture, so really it’s just a few car-loads of boxes with some small, folding bookshelves and then his clothes and whatnot.
Respond to calvinjaffarian if you can assist.
The second Saturday of every month there’s free lunch and discussion of some theological topic at Nathan & Andrea’s. Come one, come all.
This month we will be discussing ‘Spiritual Gifts: What are they? How do I know I have them? How do I use them?’ Hope to see you there at noon. RSVP if you can.
Traffick Free is having a Human Trafficking Expert Panel on Tuesday, May 24th, and they are in need of people to help with sign in sheets, money takers, ID checkers, wine pourers, and food servers.

RSVP to Ruth at redtrinity7 so she can get a good estimate on how many people are coming.
Did you know that you were part of a ‘technologically-savvy congregation’?
