Jesse and Krista are looking for an IBCer to be a part-time in-home nanny for their two young children (about 3 months old when the gig starts).
Approximately 8 – 12 hours per week, same day(s) each week. $15 per hour. Starts around February 1st.
There will be no Sunday Evening Prayer Meeting the next two Sundays (12/25 and 1/1).
There will, of course, be service in the morning!
Have a great Christmas & New Year!
Daniel & Rachel are leaving the wonderful city of Chicago and need some help loading up their U-Haul. They will be ready for anyone willing to come, for any period of time, between 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday (12/21). Dinner will be on them (pizza of course!). Please let them know if you plan on making it so they can get a close head count. Thanks so much!
Some people are inviting our neighbors who hang out behind The Meeting Place in for a soup lunch and conversations. That’s tomorrow (12/17) at 11:00 AM. If you plan to come, email info.
The Immanuel Christmas Party is also this tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:00 PM at The Meeting Place. Food, fun, and games. Hope to see you there.
Also, if you plan to give toward the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (100% of the funds go to support International Missionaries), put “Lottie” on the memo line and drop it in the offering one the remaining Sundays in December.
For the last couple months some people from area churches have been going out with donuts, coffee, and the gospel to talk and pray with those hanging out behind The Meeting Place. It happens on the first and third Saturdays of the month.
This Saturday they’re bringing it indoors. They are making soup and inviting people in from the cold to eat and talk. If you would like to come and help out and build relationships with our neighbors this way, come to The Meeting Place at 11:00 AM on Saturday.
Hey IBC family!
Let’s break out the yule log, stir up the figgy pudding, and wassle our way through the Christmas season together. Come this Saturday at 6:00 PM to The Meeting Place to celebrate our Lord’s birth together. There will be food, fun times, cookie decorating for kids, and never fear, it has been decided NO dancing. Just good times together. Can’t wait to see you all there!
We will be taking a collection of gifts to donate to Lydia Home this year, so if you can, feel free to bring a toy or book to donate.
I got a call from a writer for Examiner.com last week. Here is a little write-up on our Christmas plans.
We continue our tip-toe through the T.U.L.I.P.s this Saturday at Table Talk with ‘Irresistible Grace’.
Everyone is invited for some food and theological discussion. Lunch is at noon. RSVP if you know you’ll be there. If you have to wait to decide last minute, still come!
As you may have noticed, the lot to the east of The Meeting Place on Roosevelt has been gated off so for now we must park on the street.
Still be careful about what you leave in your cars. We have had three different member’s vehicles broken into, one on the street during daylight hours! Each time something valuable that was visible was stolen. Just a heads up…
