Behold Our God” by Altrogge, Baird, Baird, Baird

CONFESSION OF SIN –

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your great compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak, and justified when you judge” (Psalm 51:1-4).

You Alone Can Rescue” by Matt Redman

ASSURANCE OF PARDON –

Hello Fellow IBC People!

I was reading somewhere that spring time usually comes this time of year and I thought we should be prepared for when it gets here. Therefore, I am announcing that we will be having a SPRING CLEANING DAY on May 24th at The Meeting Place!!!

We have a long punch list of things to do, so if you can wash a window, run a vacuum, use a paintbrush, hammer, or broom, know how to plant a flower or use a weed whacker, or a rake, please join us for some tidiness and fellowship. Also, we will probably have some snacks!

It will probably start around 10:00 AM ‘til whenever we are finished.

God Bless!

PRELUDE – “Celebrate (He Lives)” by Fred Hammond

WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP –

Song –

Christ the Lord is Risen Today” by Charles Wesley

Scripture Reading – Matthew 28:1-9

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH –

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried; and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; and he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets; and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church; we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
