Today we realized that the furnaces at The Meeting Place were not working. The heat is back on now and we should be warm tomorrow!
However, some pipes froze and there is a strong possibility that the bathrooms will not be available tomorrow, so please plan accordingly.

PRELUDE – “Glorious” by Martha Munizzi
WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 150
Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.

CONFESSION OF SIN – Psalm 15
LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things will never be shaken.
Let’s take some time to specifically remember promises that we have made that we have not kept, and ask God for his forgiveness…
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
By our own admission we should not be able to dwell in God’s sanctuary. But hear the words of Psalm 130:3-4:
If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness;
therefore you are feared.
Jesus Christ is blameless and righteous and has brought us into the sanctuary.

PRAYER
LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts,
As we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

PRELUDE – “O God Our Help in Ages Past”
WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 90:1-4
A prayer of Moses the man of God.
Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the earth
and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting
you are God.
You turn men back to dust, saying,
“Return to dust, O sons of men.”
For a thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.

CONFESSION OF SIN – Psalm 90:8
You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins
in the light of your presence.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Psalm 32:1-2

whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man
whose sin the LORD does not count

This upcoming Sunday is the third in February and that means Table Talk… and that means free food for everyone. Plan to stick around and hang out after the service.
Immanuel will be hosting a joint conversation with Legacy Christian Fellowship on the topic of cultural differences in light of current events. It will be on Sunday, March 15th, at 5:00 PM at the Avinks’ house. We’re trying to assemble a diverse group of a dozen or so people who are willing to openly discuss issues of race and culture, with the goal of mutual learning and understanding. If you’re interested in coming or want more information, email info at immanuel dash baptist dot net.

CONFESSION OF SIN – Luke 18:9-14
To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men – robbers, evildoers, adulterers – or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

“Not in Me” by David L. Ward and Eric Shumacher
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Galatians 2:16
A man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – The Apostle’s Creed
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell and on the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
