PRELUDE – “The Cross” by Shai Linne
WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – The New Hampshire Confession of Faith
We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God,
an infinite, intelligent Spirit,
whose name is JEHOVAH,
the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth;
inexpressibly glorious in holiness,
and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love.
Song –
“Behold, Our God” by Baird and Altrogge
CONFESSION OF SIN – Isaiah 6:5
Woe to me!
I am ruined!
For I am a man of unclean lips,
and I live among a people of unclean lips,
and my eyes have seen the King,
the LORD Almighty.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – 1 Peter 3:18
Christ died for sins once for all,
the righteous for the unrighteous,
to bring you to God.
Songs –
“Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder” by John Newton
“At the Cross” by Darlene Zschech and Rueben Morgan
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – The Apostles’ Creed
We believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of Heaven and Earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell
and on the third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Psalm 103 (ESV)
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children’s children,
to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.
The LORD has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.
Bless the LORD, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word,
obeying the voice of his word!
Bless the LORD, all his hosts,
his ministers, who do his will!
Bless the LORD, all his works, in all places of his dominion.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!

CONFESSION OF SIN
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against thee
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved thee with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of thy Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in thy will,
and walk in thy ways,
to the glory of thy Name. Amen.

Hi IBC Family!
It’s that time again! I am putting together the volunteer schedule for the fall and need your help!
If you are currently serving on one of the volunteer teams, you should be getting an email this weekend and can respond to that email. If you are not currently a volunteer but would like to be, please email me or let me know at church this Sunday! We could always use help with the Children’s Ministries and with Tear-Down.
Thanks so much!

PRELUDE – “You’re Beautiful” by Phil Wickham
WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 45:1-4
My heart is stirred by a noble theme
as I recite my verses for the king;
my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
You are the most excellent of men
and your lips have been anointed with grace,
since God has blessed you forever.
Gird your sword upon your side, O mighty one;
clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.
In your majesty ride forth victoriously
in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness;
let your right hand display awesome deeds.
Songs –
“Come Thou Fount” by John Wyeth and Robert Robinson
CONFESSION OF SIN
Almighty and merciful God,
we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
We have offended against your holy laws.
We have left undone those things which we ought to have done;
And we have done those things which we ought not to have done.
O Lord, have mercy upon us.
Spare those who confess their faults.
Restore those who are penitent,
according to your promises declared to the world
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And grant, O merciful God, for his sake,
that we may live a holy, just, and humble life
to the glory of your holy name.
Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Romans 5:6-11
You see, at just the right time,
when we were still powerless,
Christ died for the ungodly.
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man,
though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood,
how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
For if, when we were God’s enemies,
we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son,
how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Hello Men,
There are a few of us at IBC, who also work at Moody, that have been meeting up for lunch on Tuesdays. I wanted to extend the invitation to any guys at IBC that work downtown that might be interested in meeting up with us. They can let me know if they would be interested as well as what day, time, and location would ideally work best (if Tuesdays at 12:00 PM at Moody is not best for them).
In Christ,
Jonathan
IBC Women!
Our Bible Study on Ephesians will be finishing up this Saturday at 10:00 AM at Cassie’s. We will be studying Ephesians 6. Please come even if you haven’t been able to earlier. If you plan on coming, below are a few questions to answer along with the regular homework. Hope to see you there!
– If you have a parent that is hard to honor, how do you apply Ephesians 6:2 in light of your inheritance in Christ?
– Do you serve others out of a sincere heart and desire to please God or to get rewarded here and now and to get praise from others?
– What ways have you experienced spiritual warfare (or do you even believe that is a real thing?) and what has helped you stand firm in the armor of God?
This Wednesday is the first Wednesday of August, which is when we’ve been having All-Church Prayer Meetings. This month’s is going to be a special one.
We will start at 6:00 PM (instead of 6:45) and have dinner together. There will be lamb kabobs and food from Ghareeb Nawaz!
Then we will be hearing from the Larsons and Ennises about the places and people groups they will be going to as missionaries and spending some dedicated and focused time praying for God to move there.
We’d like to get a rough headcount, so please email Vivian at internationalmissions at immanuel dash baptist dot net if you plan to be there.
That was a great weekend! Thanks again to all who came out to the Summer Retreat (over 90 people!) and all who helped make it happen.
Share your photos from the weekend on Facebook and be sure to tag Immanuel Baptist Church and/or use the hashtag #ibcsr2015.
Resources from the Retreat including recordings of sessions should be available soon.
And while it’s all still fresh on your mind could you email info at immanuel dash baptist dot net with answers to this short survey?
(1) What are your top two highlights of the weekend?
(2) Were there any aspects of the retreat that were negative for you? Do you have any suggestions for improvement?
(3) Was the theme – the 7 Deadly Sins – helpful for you? Any particular encouragement that can be passed on to one of the speakers?
(4) What did you think of the Lake Geneva Conference Center facilities, food, and environment? Would you like to go back there again next year?
(5) Anything else that would be helpful to share?
