PRELUDE – “Hosanna in the Highest” by Sojourn

WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 33:18-22

LEADER:

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,

on those who hope in his steadfast love,

that he may deliver their soul from death

and keep them alive in famine.

CONGREGATION:

Our soul waits for the Lord;

he is our help and our shield.

For our heart is glad in him,

because we trust in his holy name.

LEADER:

Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,

even as we hope in you.

ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING – Revelation 21:22-27

I saw no temple in the city,

for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.

And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it,

for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

By its light will the nations walk,

and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it,

and its gates will never be shut by day—

and there will be no night there.

They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.

But nothing unclean will ever enter it,

nor anyone who does what is detestable or false,

but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Song –

O Come O Come Emmanuel” by John Mason Neale and Thomas Helmore

CONFESSION OF SIN – James 5:7-10

Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord.

See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth,

being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.

You also, be patient.

Establish your hearts,

for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Do not grumble against one another, brothers,

so that you may not be judged;

behold, the Judge is standing at the door.

As an example of suffering and patience, brothers,

take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – James 5:11

Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast.

You have heard of the steadfastness of Job,

and you have seen the purpose of the Lord,

how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

Songs –

The Steadfast Love” by Edith McNeill

Your Grace Is Enough” by Matt Maher

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – The Nicene Creed

CONGREGATION:

I believe in one God the Father Almighty;

Maker of heaven and earth,

and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the only-begotten Son of God,

begotten of the Father before all worlds,

God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,

begotten, not made,

being of one substance with the Father;

by whom all things were made;

who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven,

and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary,

and was made man;

and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered and was buried

and the third day he rose again,

according to the Scriptures;

and ascended into heaven,

and sits at the right hand of the Father;

and he shall come again, with glory,

to judge both the living and the dead;

whose kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit,

the Lord and Giver of Life;

who proceeds from the Father and the Son;

who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified;

who spoke by the Prophets.

And one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;

And I look for the resurrection of the dead,

and the life of the world to come.

Amen.

CALL TO WORSHIP – Salmo/Psalm 100

¡Aclamen con alegría al SEÑOR, habitantes de toda la tierra!
Adoren al SEÑOR con gozo.
Vengan ante él cantando con alegría.
¡Reconozcan que el SEÑOR es Dios!
Él nos hizo, y le pertenecemos;
somos su pueblo, ovejas de su prado.
Entren por sus puertas con acción de gracias;
vayan a sus atrios con alabanza.
Denle gracias y alaben su nombre.
Pues el SEÑOR es bueno.
Su amor inagotable permanece para siempre,
y su fidelidad continúa de generación en generación.

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

CONFESSION OF SIN

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Isaías/Isaiah 53:5-6

Pero él fue traspasado por nuestras rebeliones
y aplastado por nuestros pecados.
Fue golpeado para que nosotros estuviéramos en paz;
fue azotado para que pudiéramos ser sanados.
Todos nosotros nos hemos extraviado como ovejas;
hemos dejado los caminos de Dios para seguir los nuestros.
Sin embargo, el SEÑOR puso sobre él
los pecados de todos nosotros.

But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

CONFESSION OF SIN – James 4:4

You adulterous people!

Do you not know that friendship with the world

is enmity with God?

Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world

makes himself an enemy of God.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Romans 5:6-11

Christ died for the ungodly.

For one will scarcely die for a righteous person –

though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die –

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners,

Christ died for us.

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood,

much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

For if while we were enemies

we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,

much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

through whom we have now received reconciliation.

POSTLUDE – “Steadfast” by Sandra McCracken

Hey IBC Family,

This email is to follow-up on last Sunday’s announcement about the Just Gospel Conference. If you’re interested please contact Randle. He needs to get a head count to the leadership of Berean Bible Baptist Church (the church Randle interned at as a Moody student) of those IBC members who desire to come. Once we finalize the number of IBC members going then more information regarding logistics will soon follow.

This will be a memorable time of fellowship in Atlanta so let’s try to make our decisions to attend by: November 21st.
