PRELUDE – “Greatest Man” by VaShawn Mitchell

WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – Jeremiah 32:17-19 (NKJV)

Ah, Lord God!

Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth

by Your great power and outstretched arm.

There is nothing too hard for You.

You show lovingkindness to thousands,

and repay the iniquity of the fathers

into the bosom of their children after them –

the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts.

You are great in counsel and mighty in work,

for your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men,

to give everyone according to his ways

and according to the fruit of his doings.

Song –

Holy Is the Lord” by Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio

CONFESSION OF SIN & ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Proverbs 28:13

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper,

but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Song –

Not in Me” by David L. Ward and Eric Shumacher

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – New Hampshire Confession of Faith (1833/53)

EVERYONE:

What do we believe about the world to come?

PASTOR:

We believe that the end of the world is approaching;

that at the last day Christ will descend from heaven,

and raise the dead from the grave to final retribution;

that a solemn separation will then take place;

that the wicked will be adjudged to endless punishment,

and the righteous to endless joy;

and that this judgment will fix forever the final state of men in heaven or hell,

on principles of righteousness.

EVERYONE:

What do we believe about the righteous and the wicked?

PASTOR:

We believe that there is a radical and essential difference

between the righteous and the wicked;

that such only as through faith are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus,

and sanctified by the Spirit of our God,

are truly righteous in His esteem;

while all such as continue in impenitence and unbelief are in His sight wicked,

and under the curse;

and this distinction holds among men both in and after death.

CONFESSION OF SIN

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Psalm 103:10-12

He does not deal with us according to our sins,

nor repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;

as far as the east is from the west,

so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

Song –

Kindness” by Chris Tomlin

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – The Apostle’s Creed

We believe in God the Father Almighty,

Maker of Heaven and Earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, dead, and buried.

He descended into hell

and on the third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven

and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,

from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN

Most merciful God,

we confess that we have sinned against you

in thought, word, and deed,

by what we have done,

and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart;

we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.

We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.

For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,

have mercy on us and forgive us;

that we may delight in your will,

and walk in your ways,

to the glory of your Name.

Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Ephesians 2:4-6

But God,

being rich in mercy,

because of the great love with which he loved us,

even when we were dead in our trespasses,

made us alive together with Christ –

by grace you have been saved –

and raised us up with him

and seated us with him

in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
