CONFESSION OF SIN –

EVERYONE:

Merciful God,

we confess that we have sinned against you

in thought, word, and deed,

by what we have done,

and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength.

We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.

In your mercy forgive what we have been,

help us amend what we are,

and direct what we shall be,

so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways,

to the glory of your holy name.

Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Song –

Have Mercy on Me” by Dale Bischof and Pat Sczebel

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Psalm 103:8-12

The Lord is merciful and gracious,

slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

He will not always chide,

nor will he keep his anger forever.

He does not deal with us according to our sins,

nor repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;

as far as the east is from the west,

so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

CONFESSION OF SIN – Psalm 106:34-39

They did not destroy the peoples,

as the Lord commanded them,

but they mixed with the nations

and learned to do as they did.

They served their idols,

which became a snare to them.

They sacrificed their sons

and their daughters to the demons;

they poured out innocent blood,

the blood of their sons and daughters,

whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,

and the land was polluted with blood.

Thus they became unclean by their acts,

and played the whore in their deeds.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Psalm 106:44-45, 46-48

LEADER:

Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress,

when he heard their cry.

For their sake he remembered his covenant,

and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love.

EVERYONE:

Save us, O Lord our God,

and gather us from among the nations,

that we may give thanks to your holy name

and glory in your praise.

LEADER:

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,

from everlasting to everlasting!

And let all the people say,

EVERYONE:

“Amen!”

WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – Isaiah 40:28-31

Have you not known? Have you not heard?

The Lord is the everlasting God,

the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He does not faint or grow weary;

his understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the faint,

and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Even youths shall faint and be weary,

and young men shall fall exhausted;

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

they shall run and not be weary;

they shall walk and not faint.

Song –

Everlasting God” by Brenton Brown and Ken Rile

Ever Be” by Bobby Strand, Chris Greely, Gabriel Wilson, and Kalley Heiligenthal

CONFESSION OF SIN – Isaiah 6:1-5

In the year that King Uzziah died [the prophet Isaiah] saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!’ And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And [he] said:

EVERYONE:

Woe is me!

For I am lost;

for I am a man of unclean lips,

and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;

for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Isaiah 6:6-7

Then one of the seraphim flew to [Isaiah],

having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar.

And he touched [his] mouth and said:

“Behold, this has touched your lips;

your guilt is taken away,

and your sin atoned for.”

CONFESSION OF SIN – Philippians 2:2-4

Complete my joy

by being of the same mind,

having the same love,

being in full accord and of one mind.

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit,

but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests,

but also to the interests of others.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Ephesians 2:13-16

But now in Christ Jesus

you who were once far off

have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

For he himself is our peace,

who has made us both one

and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility

by abolishing the law of commandments and ordinances,

that he might create in himself one new man

in place of the two,

so making peace,

and might reconcile us both to God

in one body through the cross,

thereby killing the hostility.
