CONFESSION OF SIN – (Judges 10:10-15)
Congregation reads the bolded section aloud.
In light of God’s never ending love, let’s take a moment to reflect on the ways we have been unfaithful to the Lord throughout the week. Please read the bolded section from Judges 10:10-15 aloud.
And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying,
“We have sinned against you, because we have forsaken our God
and have served the Baals.”
And the Lord said to the people of Israel,
“Did I not save you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites,
from the Ammonites and from the Philistines?
The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you,
and you cried out to me, and I saved you out of their hand.
Yet you have forsaken me and served other gods; therefore I will save you no more.
Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen;
let them save you in the time of your distress.”
And the people of Israel said to the Lord,
“We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you.
Only please deliver us this day.”

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Psalm 32:3-5 (NIV)
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
the guilt of my sin.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH — From the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Chapter 17 Paragraph 1. (Jonah)
The sensible sight of the light and love of God may for a time be clouded and obscured from them, yet he is still the same, and [the true believer] shall be sure to be kept by the power of God unto salvation, where they shall enjoy their purchased possession, they being engraved upon the palm of his hands, and their names having been written in the book of life from all eternity.

CONFESSION OF SIN – Matthew 6:25-27
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life,
what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
And why are you anxious about clothing?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven,
will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Let’s take a moment to reflect and pray,
confessing the many times we’ve so often failed to trust God for our daily needs.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Philippians 4:19-20
And my God will supply every need of yours

Amen.

WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 47:1-8
Clap your hands, all peoples!
Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared,
a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah
God has gone up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm!
God reigns over the nations;
God sits on his holy throne.

CONFESSION OF SIN – Psalm 51:1-5
EVERYONE:
Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgment.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Song –
“Have Mercy on Me” by Dale Bischof and Pat Sczebel
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – 1 Timothy 1:15

Song –
“And Can It Be?” by Charles Wesley
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – New Hampshire Confession of Faith, Article IX
We believe that Election is the eternal purpose of God,
according to which He graciously regenerates, sanctifies, and saves sinners;
that being perfectly consistent with the free agency of man,
it comprehends all the means in connection with the end;
that it is a most glorious display of God’s sovereign goodness, being infinitely free, wise, holy and unchangeable;
that it utterly excludes boasting, and promotes humility, love, prayer, praise, trust in God,
and active imitation of his free mercy.
PRAYER Be seated.

CONFESSION OF SIN – (From Isa. 55:7; and Mic. 7:18)
Let the wicked forsake his way
And the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him,
And to our God, for he will freely pardon.
In light of his kingdom, God declares that all sinners can turn from their crooked ways and come to him for mercy and forgiveness. Let’s take a moment and examine our lives and humbly pray and ask for the Lord to forgive us and cleanse us.

“Be Magnified” by Lynn DeShazo
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – (From the Heidelberg Catechism Question 60)
Congregation reads answer aloud.
60. How are you righteous before God?
Only by true faith in Jesus Christ; that is, although my conscience accuse me, that I have grievously sinned against all the commandments of God, and have never kept any of them, and am still prone always to all evil; yet God without any merit of mine, of mere grace, grants and imputes to me the perfect satisfaction, righteousness, and holiness of Christ, as if I had never committed nor had any sin, and had myself accomplished all the obedience which Christ has fulfilled for me; if only I accept such benefit with a believing heart.

CONFESSION OF SIN – (From Psalm 5) Congregation reads the bolded sections aloud.
All: Hear our words and our groanings, O Lord.Give attention to our cry for mercy.
Minister: You are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you.
The boastful shall not stand before your eyes;you hate all evildoers.
You destroy those who speak lies; you abhor the bloodthirsty and deceitful.
All: But, O Lord, we are evildoers.
We are boastful, deceitful and bloodthirsty.
Minister: By your mercy alone,
by the abundance of your steadfast love
may we enter your house.
All: Because of your Son, O Lord,
let us find refuge in you.
Take away our sins and let us sing for joy.
Cover us with your favor as with a shield.
For the sake of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
