“Great Are You Lord” by All Sons And Daughters

CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 66:1-4:

“Shout for joy to God, all the earth;

    sing the glory of his name;

    give to him glorious praise!

Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!

    So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.

All the earth worships you

    and sings praises to you;

    they sing praises to your name.””

Let’s stand and declare the greatness of our God,

for he has done great things among us!

CONFESSION OF SIN – From Deuteronomy 30:1-6

In times of trouble, when Israel fell under his just condemnation because of their sin,

God himself gave his people a promise in Deuteronomy 30:

“And when all these things come upon you,

the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you,

and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you,

and return to the Lord your God, you and your children,

and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you,

and he will gather you again from all the peoples

where the Lord your God has scattered you.

Although many of us may still be feeling the shame and weight of lingering sins residing in our lives, we can rest assured knowing that no matter how far we’ve wandered away from the Lord this week, God himself promises to gather all those who humbly repent of their sins and return to him in faith. Let’s use this time in our service to pray and humbly turn again to God as we seek his mercy and grace this morning.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Ezekiel 36:25-27

And now let’s hear God’s word of assurance

to every sinner who turns to seek his face this morning:

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.”

Let’s continue to sing, for through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, God has cleansed his people from sin!
