CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 105:1-4

“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;

    make known his deeds among the peoples!

Sing to him, sing praises to him;

    tell of all his wondrous works!

Glory in his holy name;

    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!

Seek the Lord and his strength;

    seek his presence continually!”

Let’s stand and give thanks to the Lord this morning,

And let us make his deeds known among all people in our song!

CONFESSION OF SIN – Psalm 32:5  

In spite of his deep love for God and his word, there were times when even King David himself sinned and fell short of the standards of God’s law. And when he fell short, David would pray:

“I acknowledge my sin to you,

And I did not cover my iniquity;

I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,’ 

And you forgave the iniquity of my sin.”

Just as David needed to ask the Lord for his forgiveness,

God’s people today also need to regularly acknowledge and confess our sins

In order that we too might be assured by God’s forgiveness and cleansed by his grace.

Let’s take some time in our service to acknowledge and confess our sins to the Lord.
