WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP– Hebrews 12:26-29

God has promised,

“Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

This phrase, “Yet once more,”

indicates the removal of things that are shaken –

that is, things that have been made –

in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,

and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship,

with reverence and awe,

for our God is a consuming fire.

CONFESSION OF SIN – James 4:4-5

You adulterous people!

Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?

Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world

makes himself an enemy of God.

Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says,

“He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”?

“Let’s take a moment to confess silently our infidelities to the Lord…”

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – James 4:6

But he gives more grace.

Therefore it says,

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

“Let’s continue to humble ourselves as we sing the words of this song and celebrate that he gives grace to the humble!”

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – The Nicene Creed

EVERYONE:

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth,

and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,

begotten of the Father before all worlds;

God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God;

begotten, not made,

being of one substance with the Father,

by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven,

and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,

and was made man;

and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;

He suffered and was buried;

and the third day He rose again,

according to the Scriptures;

and ascended into heaven,

and sits on the right hand of the Father;

and He shall come again, with glory,

to judge the quick and the dead;

whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life;

who proceeds from the Father and the Son;

who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified;

who spoke by the prophets.

And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;

and we look for the resurrection of the dead,

and the life of the world to come.

Amen.
