· A few highlights concerning potential places of missional engagement within the UIC Area: Consider your public library. Not only is it a great way to get to know other families, but its also a great place to learn about what else is going on the community. For starters, at the Rudy Lozano branch there is family story time each Thursday at 3:30, and at the Roosevelt branch there is a Fall Harvest Crafts events on November 9th.

· A brief calendar of important/interesting upcoming events: I am personally very excited about a discussion panel this Sunday from 1:30-4:00pm at The Shrine of Our Lady Pompeii concerning how to live with compassion in everyday life. There will be panelists from Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. Come join the discussion.

· This week’s helpful resource: If you feel at a loss for where to start in seeking God’s justice in the world (or even if you don’t) you should check out The Just Life. Their website is filled with ideas, resources, and opportunities to connect with like-minded people in Chicago.

1 John 3:16-18

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

Have a blessed week,

Andrew Myers
